What I Need from You

The manuscript project form that you will receive from me covers the following information.

Word Count: the exact word count
Type of Edit Required: if you require a manuscript evaluation, developmental edit, stylistic edit, copy edit, a proofread, or a blended approach (If not sure, I can help!)
Additional Specialized Services Required: if you require any additional specialized services, such as plain language, inclusive language, accessibility, authenticity reading, or translation
Previous Document Editing: if other editors have previously worked on this project, and if a style guide has been provided
Style Guide Requirements: which style guide you wish to follow (The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS), Canadian Press, (CP), etc.) (If not sure, I can help!)
Spelling and Publishing Standards Requirements: which type of English spelling and publishing norms are required (Canadian English, US English, UK English, etc.) (If not sure, I can help!)
Additional Information: intended audience, where this will be published, and if this will be self-published or submitted to traditional publishers, etc.
Document/Manuscript: provide the document and/or manuscript in Microsoft Word or Google Docs in Times New Roman, size 12, double spaced, for an accurate quote

What You Will Receive from Me

If we both agree on rates, timelines, and terms, I then will send you a contract to review and sign. Then, at our agreed upon due date, I will provide you with

an edited document (either a Microsoft Word document with “Track Changes” and comments or a Google Docs document with “Suggested” edits and comments),
a general inclusive language edit,
a clean Microsoft Word or Google Docs document,
a editorial letter, and
a style sheet of my edits.
